How to play Binary Puzzle

Take a moment with Binary Puzzle before moving to another game. Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Choose from ten 6×6 puzzles. Undo changes or reveal a selected cell when you need help.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable square.
  2. Enter 0 or 1; each line needs three of each.
  3. Avoid three consecutive equal values horizontally or vertically.
  4. Check puzzle validates balance, triples and unique lines.

Controls

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

A row beginning 0 0 needs 1 next. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

Balanced rows may still duplicate each other. Check the rule before repeating the action. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
