How to play Bubble Shooter

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Bubble Shooter. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Read before acting

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.

Step by step

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

Controls

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. Use the control method described here for this activity. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

Contact with a different colour is not a match. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
