How to play Bowling

Play ten frames using a two-dimensional bowling lane. Strikes, spares and bonus rolls count towards the total.

Step by step

1. Set lane position and power.

3. A strike ends a normal frame; otherwise roll again.

A useful example

A strike followed by rolls of 4 and 5 makes the strike frame worth 19. An ordinary frame of 4 and 5 is worth 9. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Bonus-dependent frames may not yet have a confirmed total. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
